Ronny Gottschlich
CEO & Founder
Heunadel Retail Advisory

With over 16 years at the Schwarz Group, Ronny Gottschlich has been around the block (or several, if you count the countries). From Austria to Germany, he eventually landed in the UK as CEO of Lidl (2010-2016), where he didn’t just ruffle the feathers of the big supermarket players—he flipped the whole coop. During his tenure, Lidl UK doubled its market share and revenue, proving that disruption isn’t just for tech startups. In 2016, Ronny traded corporate halls for entrepreneurial freedom and founded Heunadel Retail Advisory. Since then, he has been shaking things up globally, advising retailers from Tiendas 3B in Mexico to Tiaoma in China, not to mention household names like Sainsbury’s in the UK and LuLu in the UAE. He also serves on the Supervisory Board of some exciting businesses, including Turkey’s fastest-growing retailer, A101, and Studenac in Croatia. When Gorillas came calling, Ronny swapped the boardroom for the fast-paced world of delivery food startups, bringing his offline know-how to their online hustle as Chief Commercial Officer. Across all these adventures, one mantra has stayed true: there’s no “one-size-fits-all” in retail. But there are always lessons to steal—whether it’s from emerging markets or established giants. Disruption, growth, and a pinch of cheekiness—call it Ronny’s recipe for retail success.
