Tom has been working in corporate finance for over 30 years, specialising in the consumer sector since 1998. He graduated with a BSc from Manchester University and qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG. From there, he moved to Robert Fleming & Co. in 1989 (working in New York, as head of M&A, and London) before leaving for Lehman Brothers in 2000 with John Spayne and a team of 8 bankers.
Tom left Lehman in 2004 and established Spayne Lindsay & Co. along with John Spayne.
He is a trustee for The Food Foundation (https://foodfoundation.org.uk/), the registered charity whose aim is to use surprising and inventive ideas to catalyse and deliver food system change. Tom also sits on the board of The Arnold Foundation which helps children from disadvantaged background obtain better education.
Tom lives with his long term partner Tessa and has two adult children.
